Between 1843 and 2022 not a lot has changed for blood microcopy, the technique of observing live blood through a glass has been consistent.
The technology to record what we see has changed. In our blood microscopy sessions, we record your blood and double check any anomalies with our database of over a thousand images.

]]>Among other things, blood carries oxygen and nutrients around and to the body and carries out waste. It is made up of red cells, white cells, platelets, and plasma. Each of these components of your blood has its own job to do. If you live at a high altitude with less oxygen, if you eat too much sugar, if you drink too much alcohol, if you catch malaria, evidence of these things can show up in your blood. You can see it right on the screen.
Live blood analysis consists of a test, similar to a live blood smear in a lab, which requires only a finger prick and is performed right in the office by a certified practitioner. It is the only way to observe live blood cells and is called “dark field blood microscopy”. Vital information about what is going on inside your body can be seen. The test is done with a light field microscope that is connected to a specialized video camera which feeds the real time image to a monitor so you the patient can observe your own blood along with the practitioner. The light rays on the microscope are diverted and shine in from the side against a dark background. This prevents the heat of the light from killing the cells and allows for a greater depth and view. Your red and white blood cells are brought into view along with debris or, for example, parasites that may be present. There may be evidence of vitamin and mineral deficiencies, toxicities such as mold or fungus, organ stress and potential digestion issues going on that can be indicated by what is seen in your blood.
While our practitioner cannot diagnose diseases or medical conditions, you can see for example, an individual white blood cell actively growing around and fighting a bacterium – doing its job – or a tiny wiggling parasite, or odd shaped red blood cells. Some people disagree that there is anything to it. But one look at your own blood and you have to accept that something important is going on here.

]]>With 12 different herbs, known to have immune supporting properties, Nutri CFC might just have something for you! The Center for Disease Control (CDC) estimated that over 35 million people in the United States got sick during the 2018-2019 flu season[1] in two waves of viruses. We receive almost nightly reports of the effects of COVID. The need for precaution is very real.
Now for the good news. Those 12 herbs in Nutri CFC have been carefully selected and included because they have a reputation for good. Take Echinacea Angustifolia for example (yes, take it!), also known as coneflower, snakeroot, scurvy root, black susans, and hedge hog, it is a perennial that is native to North America. The United States Department of Agriculture reports that it is still the most widely used medicinal plant of the Plains Indians. It was used to fight everything that bit you, literally. The early settlers used it as a treatment for themselves and for their livestock as well. It is widely used today as an immune-stimulant.
Then take sage leaf (Salvia), part of the mint family actually, is also native to North America and used by indigenous peoples. Its seeds are known as chia. Yes, chia seeds – you know, the ones you can sprout on those clay animals so they have green leafy “hair”? All grown up, the leaves and stems can be used in many ways. Of course for our purposes here, we are focusing on a variety of ailments. With sage, it sounds like you can be clean inside and out!
Let’s look at one more ingredient in Nutri CFC, mullein leaf (Verbascum), also known as Aaron’s rod, Adam’s flannel, beggar’s blanket and a few dozen other interesting nomers. Unlike the two ingredients above, this herb is not native but was introduced into North America.
Well those are three of the 12, and those three alone are enough to convince me! O.k. I was convinced already. Are you?
If so, Nutri CFC is available here on our website and in our store in Wheat Ridge. We are doing our best to help you in your effort to stay safe, healthy and whole!

There is a huge problem these days with blood sugar issues. According to Fox News, 1 in 2 or 3 people will be diabetic by 2020. The reports state that more and more people are becoming diabetic daily.
Sadly, people have become increasingly concerned about fats than they are about sugar and carbohydrates. The key to better health is not so much about limiting saturated fat, but about AVOIDING insulin provoking foods such as refined carbs and sugars.
Insulin protects organs from damage by reducing blood glucose levels. We produce insulin as needed when there is a rapid rise in blood glucose. If we do not produce insulin, he glucose levels just become too high. Insulin lowers or removes this excess glucose from the blood by storing it as fat within the body. Insulin is a fat storage hormone.
A balanced diet-protein, vegetables and salads-causes the body to produce the glucagon hormone. When glucagon is released, body fat and cholesterol are burned for energy, rather than stored as fat. Glucagon promotes optimal blood glucose levels; cholesterol levels; body fat burning; and energy production.
Insulin and glucagon are inversely related. When insulin is “needed” or produced, glucagon is not produced.
This is why a balanced diet high in protein, vegetables, and salads with NO sugar is so vastly important to all of us-especially diabetic and hypoglycemic people who have been told they are insulin resistant or borderline diabetic.
The weight loss in some diabetics is or can be “muscle wasting” because of high insulin levels causing the body to burn muscle tissue for energy, as an alternate glucose source for the brain and body energy.
Too much insulin, as hypoglycemia, actually causes brain cells to die. People who are hypoglycemic are much more susceptible to dementia/Alzheimer’s than people with balanced blood sugar. So with high insulin production, when your blood sugar drops, you can have nervousness, irritability, weakness, intense hunger, sugar cravings, tremors, tearfulness, impatience (and outright anger), headaches, vision disturbances, drowsiness, inability to cope, sweating, dizziness, confusion, tingling or numbness, and in some cases fainting and seizures!
We at The Green Herb encourage you to AVOID sugar, aspartame (which can cause a myriad of other problems) and avoid sweetener that has maltodextrin.

Just because a person doesn't have chest pain doesn't mean he or she isn't having a heart attack. Debunking a medical myth, a nationwide study of 434,877 heart attack victims found that a surprising one third showed up at the hospital without chest pain. Such patients were more than twice as likely to die, in part because they delayed going to the hospital and because doctors failed to diagnose them quickly, according to the study in today's Journal of the American Medical Association.
Women, nonwhites, people older than 75 and those with previous heart failure, stroke or diabetes were most likely to have "painless" heart attacks, as previous research has shown. Doctors have long known about painless heart attacks. But the researchers and experts not involved in the study said the magnitude of the problem is greater than they thought. "Thirty-three percent is a huge bunch," said Dr. Lynn Smaha, president of the American Heart Association. "I didn't know it was that large."
The researchers, led by Dr. John Canto of the University of Alabama, said the findings should alert doctors and paramedics to the need for rapid diagnosis and treatment of patients in high-risk groups. Other less typical symptoms can include shortness of breath, irregular heartbeat, nervousness, nausea, fainting or overwhelming weakness. Heart attacks strike an estimated 1.1 million Americans each year, killing more than 40 percent of them. The researchers analyzed 1994-98 data from a national registry of heart attack patients at 1,674 hospitals nationwide. Among patients without chest pain, 23 percent died in the hospital, compared with 9 percent of those with the classic symptom. Study participants without chest pain delayed going to the hospital by about two hours more than those with pain, probably because they didn't realize they were having a heart attack.
Patients with chest pain were more than twice as likely to be diagnosed upon admission and to get either clot-busting drugs or angioplasty, in which a balloon-tipped catheter is used to open blocked arteries.
A heart attack occurs when a blood clot forms in an artery narrowed by fatty deposits, cutting off the flow of blood and oxygen to the heart. The process generally takes about six hours, so the sooner the blocked artery can be opened, the better.
